Meet Qudsia, one of our fabulous STREAMin³ Coaches! In her free time, she loves to explore new restaurants and cities. Her favorite children's book to read aloud is Chicka Chicka Boom Boom! Qudsia has been in early childhood education for 6 years and her favorite part of the STREAMin³ curriculum is the Core Skill Routines, specifically the Feelings Chart as it helps children to recognize and manage their big emotions. She says the best part of her job is partnering with all the hard-working educators to improve children's classroom experiences. 💚

Make it Your Own: Summer!
☀️
As we get closer to summer, we are highlighting the upcoming Make-It-Your-Own summer weeks! The summer brings the chance to revisit STREAM Group Activities, STREAM Story Activities, and more. Each week, you will intentionally focus on 1-2 Subskills. Before entering the Make-It-Your-Own weeks, reflect on children’s development needs. The Core Skills you’d like to support can have a new spotlight during these weeks. No matter how you Make-It-Your-Own, be sure to keep the same STREAMin3 focuses. Keep up the intentional interactions and hands-on, engaging learning all summer long! Find the Make-It-Your-Own planning sheets in your Curriculum Guide for more information on getting started this summer.

Teaching Tips
The Magic of the Talking Stick Routine
The talking stick is a powerful visual cue that helps children take turns and develop listening skills. When a child holds the talking stick, it's their turn to talk, and others are encouraged to listen and respond. This helps develop reciprocal communication skills, as children learn to engage in back-and-forth conversation. And, the use of the talking stick can reinforce the importance of looking at and listening to the person who is speaking. Embrace the magic of the talking stick and watch children's communication skills soar!
