Spotlight Feature
Meet Nina, one of our fabulous STREAMin³ Coaches!Nina has been in ECE for over 15 years. Her favorite children’s books are the Elephant and Piggie series by Mo Willems. Nina says she loves how the STREAMin³ curriculum is focused on developing the whole child, not just academics. She also loves working with so many people who truly care about children and who love learning! Nina thrives on helping others reach their goals as well as helping them learn something new.
We look forward to featuring more of our STREAMin³ leaders and educators in our Spotlight series. Want to share your love for STREAMin³ in an upcoming Spotlight?

On-Demand Learning: We’re Moving!
Are you completing an on-demand course as part of your STREAMin3 onboarding or professional development? We are moving to a new learning platform at the end of April.
Here’s What You Need to Know:
If you are currently taking one of our on-demand courses but haven’t completed it yet, you’ll need to finish by April 19, 2024. Need to sign up for a course before then? Your last day to enroll in any course on our current system is April 14, 2024.
If you have already completed some of our on-demand learning courses, you’re all set. Be sure to download a copy of your learning transcript and certificates for your records.
We will have a short break from April 22-26. During this time, on-demand learning will not be available.
We will return on April 29th at our new online location! Stay tuned for an email with our new web address and how you can sign up for on-demand learning.
If you have never tried our on-demand learning before, or do not have an opportunity to finish a new course before the move, that’s ok! Our new learning platform will have the same courses available to you. And we’ll be adding some new courses as well!

Join Us On April 24th!
Join us on April 24th, 1:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m., for our next webinar: Taking STREAMin3 Outside. Here comes spring! Explore how to use intentional interactions and materials to support the Core and STREAM Skills outside.
Ready to add new life to your outdoor experiences? STREAMin3 has so many ways to engage children during outside play! Being outside is so beneficial for children and gives them space to move their bodies and explore the natural world. It can also help focus and regulate! The Parts of the Day section of the Setting the Stage Guide has lots of ideas for outdoor play with children of all ages. If you're in a toddler or preschool classroom, you'll see some of our Group Activities will feature a sun icon - which suggests you could plan to implement that activity outdoors. There are also many Activity Cards that are perfect for outdoor play. For example, I-Spy and yoga cards. Don't forget that getting all children outside once or twice a day, in any weather, is a great goal to keep in mind!

Teaching Tips
The Power of the Provocation
What is a provocation? A provocation is a purposeful set of materials designed for children to explore a particular idea. As part of the STREAMin3 curriculum, we present children with provocations related to the group activities for the week during arrival time each day. Think of it as an invitation to play that can ease children’s transition into your program and give them something exciting to explore.
Community Photos
Making Mud at Ready Region 1's Copper Hill Childcare was a huge hit! Children made mud balls, mud pies, and even mud snowmen!
We would love to see some of your photos of STREAMin³ in action in or out of your classrooms. Send them to streamin3@virginia.edu to be included in our monthly Gazette.
